This includes the technical areas of SMSF, including:
SMSF establishment
Ensuring compliance to SIS legislation
Contribution and pension strategies, including transition to retirement strategies
Estate planning considerations
Personal risk insurances within an SMSF
We believe the principals of our Investment Philosophy are ideally suited to Self Managed Superannuation.
Simplicity
We see one of the greatest advantages of an SMSF is the investment flexibility it provides and its suitability for cost effective direct investing. We further believe that an SMSF is a vehicle that should avoid highly complex arrangements that increase administrative and compliance difficulties.
Quality
An SMSF is a long term investment vehicle ideally suited to high quality investments that reward the patient, long term investor. We believe that speculative investing has little place within an SMSF.
Liquidity
A lack of liquidity can cause a number of unforseen consequences for the trustees of an SMSF. This is especially the case as a fund transitions from accumulation to pension phase. A fund must be capable of funding its liabilities.
We will build liquidity parameters into an Investment Strategy and closely manage this for you.
Capital Preservation
Capital Preservation is a particular priority for retirees or those approaching retirement who are relying on their SMSF to meet their living expenses and also have less time to recoup losses in times of market volatility. It is also true that we are living longer and must protect against the devastating effects of inflation.
After Tax Returns
We will always seek to maximise the benefit of the concessionally taxed environment offered by SMSF. This includes a focus on the extraction of franking credits, the participation in and treatment of certain corporate actions and the opportunities presented by lower levels of capital gains tax.
As a Trustee of an SMSF you have a number of responsibilities that must be adhered to. These responsibilities can become complicated and burdensome. We will assist and guide you in attending to these compliance and administrative responsibilities. This includes:
Acting as mailing house for all correspondence
The provision of comprehensive reporting
Collation of information required to complete end of year tax reporting
Cooperation with external Accountants & SMSF administrators
